RedFest is an annual music and cultural festival held in September in Cleveland, just 25 minutes east of Brisbane on beautiful Moreton Bay. It is Redland City’s premier event and boasts musicians and artists from across the globe.  For two and half days, Redlands Showground becomes a magical blaze of colour, a symphony of beautiful sounds and celebration of our amazing community.

Hundreds of the world’s best performers – singers, dancers, poets, artists – come to Redlands to entertain and share their skills across multiple venues with a jammed packed program.

Jason has just been named the support act for superstar Sarah McLeod at her Brisbane show at The Crowbar in Fortitude Valley for her GIANTS tour in support of the release of her debut album 'Rocky's Diner'.

I would like to thank the Sunshine Coast Council and Arts Queensland for offering me a RADF Major Arts Grant to help record my next album. The Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) is a partnership between the Queensland Government and Sunshine Coast Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.

I recently joined forces with The Audio Hunt & Mastering in Logic X to complete an online YouTube web series 'The world's your studio' to demonstrate how musicians can connect their audio or midi files to the worlds most desirable gear from anywhere in the world into your own personal workflow without having to invest thousands of dollars in studio equipment.

My song 'Just for a while' was featured in the video series which shows the power of 'The Audio Hunt' to getting your files processed by quality gear and then sent straight back to your inbox.  The Audio Hunt has an amazing range of gear on offer and is only one of a few companies supported by Abbey Road Studios.

When touring, I needed a light-weight/portable kit that can keep my pedals safe, powered, and in the one location to make my setup/packup easier for performing shows.

HOW IT WORKS - THE SETUP (Left to Right)
All of my pedals are fixed in the designated spots on the U-600 pedal board.  The board is connected to a mains power supply which gives 9V of power to each pedal on the board.  The guitar plugs into the input of the board.  The signal then travels through the BOSS ME-25 effects pedal, then through to the BOSS DD-7, then finally into the BOSS RC-25 Loop station.  The signal then exits through the Stereo outputs to your amp or PA system.

Beta Aivin U-600 Guitar effects powered pedal board
This is a great portable pedal case for storing your pedals and being able to setup/pack down instantly.  Simply open the lid, plug your instrument in, turn on power and you're ready to go.  This light weight and compact board gives you a safe and portable travel case for on the road and gigs.

BOSS RC-30 Dual Track Loop Station
The twin pedal multitrack looper comes with two synchronised stereo tracks and built-in loop effects. Plug in your instrument of choice, or even an XLR with phantom power. Create and stack mulit-layered loops with tracks being independently controlled with dedicated volume faders and track-select buttons.

BOSS Digital Delay DD-7
The new DD-7 compact pedal continues to push the envelop with innovative features including Modulation Delay, Analog Delay, Classic Model delay, External pedal control options and longer delay times.  Also includes up to 40 seconds of recording for sound on sound and a Stereo Output.

Packed with powerful features, effects and Sound Modelling (COSM).  The built in expression pedal acts as a Wah/Volume/Freeze to control the output sound.  The inbuilt sound library gives you more options to alter the sound to the desired effect.  With Over 60 pre-set effects, the pedal allows you to instantly edit each sound with the Drive, Tone and Level knobs.  The inbuilt Loop function delivers 38 seconds of recording time.  The pedal has a USB audio interface which allows you to connect to your computer for external sound.  The Solo/Tap Tempo button allows you to adjust the delay/echo effect time by simply tapping along to the tempo.

Jason will be performing at LECHLADE FESTIVAL on the 29th May.  With a jam-packed line up with headliners by The Proclaimers and Dr and the Medics across 3 days, 3 nights and 3 stages of entertainment, LECHLADE FESTIVAL 2016 is set for another stellar year.

Since the release of his highly anticipated debut EP - Past. Present. Future has been building momentum gaining accolades for its subtle pop compositions.  Jason's songwriting is surely making its mark on a global scale by being recently listed as a semi-finalist for the 2015 International Songwriting Competition.  His music consists of a perfect blend of impassioned lyrics, harmonious guitar melodies all fused together with a catchy pop twist gives this emerging singer-songwriter credibility in the music industry.

After arriving in London, final preparations were made before hitting the road for the second leg of the Past. Present. Future album promo tour. Visiting 4 major cities in different European countries, and many km's travelled, we were finally able to head back to London for some much needed rest.

After touching down at JFK airport, we were soon inundated with the intense lifestyles of the big apple. A short 2 hour taxi ride to the apartment with our luggage all jam packed into the infamous yellow cab, it didn't take us long to become acoustom to hearing car horns and sirens every minute coming from every direction. No wonder why they call New York the city that never sleeps. After a few days off from sight seeing we started filming the music video clip for my soon to be released song 'Maybe someday'. Filmed across multiple locations throughout the city with lead actress/dancer Laree Gadenne, who was also a Gold medalist and Millennium Dance Complex Scholarship winner at the World Champion of Performing Arts 2013 for Dancing and Acting. We wrapped up filming and had a few days left to enjoy the sights before heading to the airport ready to travel to our next destination.

After months of planning, the first leg of the Past. Present. Future album promo tour was Los Angeles. California would also be a place where I'd call home for the 2 months. My first show was at funky venue named Kulak's Woodshed.  Located in North Hollywood, I was fortunate enough to showcase my original music in a more intimate and stripped back acoustic setup. Kulak's is an amazing venue for any aspiring musician to to showcase their music. The venue also comes equipped with a high tech setup with six high def cameras, and a full sound and recording studio setup that records the whole show and a live TV broadcast stream to the public.

Kulak's is a one of a kind venue, and special mention goes out to the amazing production crew who continually work behind the scenes to ensure the smooth running of the show. You can watch my performances on my YOUTUBE channel HERE. During my time in LA, I set up base in a cozy lockout studio space at Beat Garage also located in North Hollywood. The studio is a handy setup for any travelling musician which offers 24hr access and a secure place for your equipment. After 5 weeks of working in the studio, I recorded a whole heap of new material for release later in the year.

Before leaving LA, we visited Las Vegas to shoot a few music videos in the Nevada dessert. Despite the sub zero temperatures, it was one of the highlights of the trip. I'd highly recommend doing the drive along the famous Route 66 highway. Upon returning to LA, I played my final show at Kulak's Woodshed before packing up shop and making my way to the next desitination of New York City. The concrete jungle of tall buildings and impressive landscapes is still one of the craziest and busiest places I've ever lived.
